What's the status on this game currently ?

I have the collector edition with Comics Book and all stuff, from pre-order :) Mostly everything on blisters ;)

I only used the Beta account code to play 1 week, there was some good ideas, but I don't know why they had to mimic WoW so much !

If I wanted to play WoW I'll play WoW ! I wouldn't buy WAR and expecting it to be WoW ! ( Well maybe my expectations for WAR being DAoC 2 have disappointed me too ;) )

That's really weird, why didn't they downscale the servers like they did with DAoC? does Warhammer Online have less players than DAoC does?

I wonder what's next for Mythic, I can't help but think they want to create a new MMO due to them shutting down Warhammer Online... all they have now is DAoC and Ultima Online.

I don't remember "what" is mythic now ?

since EA bought them, they got fused with Bioware, then returned to being Mythic only ?

It's like Blizzard / Westwood / etc...

These names are just shadow of themselves with most of the guys who made them gone to other studio.

I don’t think any of its critics would ever call it boring.
I fell asleep once while trying to play it. IT WAS BORING.

Looks like they are losing their license. They don't talk directly about a shutdown, which is odd.

Greetings Warhammer Online Subscribers,

We here at Mythic have built an amazing relationship working with Games Workshop creating and running Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning over the last 8 years. Unfortunately, as with all licensing deals they do eventually come to end and on December 18th, 2013 we will no longer be operating Warhammer Online. As such we will no longer be selling 3 month game time codes or have the ability to auto renew your accounts for 3 months as of September 18th, 2013. If you would like to read some additional thoughts from one of WAR’s Producer please check out http://www.warhammeronline.com/. From all of us here at Mythic we thank you again for your dedication and support over the last five years.

If you have any questions please feel free contact us via email at support@warhammeronline.com.

Waaagh!

I recently got back into the game, it is a shame. But we have seen this coming for the past year, the final developer (designer) lost his job for it and then they stopped selling 6 month timecards, no communications at all since. The 6 month timecard announcement was 6 months before the closing date.

I don't want to talk for all DOL community, but this work looks really like a "Sandbox", I see implementation for some GameObject, Mobs, Quests, Spawn, WorldObject, Zones, moving through area.

Some lobby emulator and such, but from what I can see quickly, nothing about game mechanics, I can't see anything about skills or abilities, (except one only DealDamage Handler like a stub...), nothing about Player interactions (Inventory, Trade) only some chat.

Code do look a bit like DOL on the basic needed C# classes (Player, World, Zone, Region, GameObject etc) but it really looks Empty !

And Live servers are gonna be lost soon, there is a 115MB SQL file given with this SVN but only data about Quest, Mob, Tome of Knowledge (if I remember right), the pseudo accomplishment system, there are some data that looks like they're not linked together, thus I think it's a database resulting from dumping client asset, and lot of Sniffing Network...

I can only see some Network OPCODES (Client side or Server Side ??), without a reverse engineered Network API between Client and Server (and Even DOL don't have all documentation around this) and live server being gone it's gonna be hard work to implement more advanced features of the client.

I don't like much Warhammer Online, and given its current trouble I would say I'm not the only one not liking it, this game is described as one of the first MMO Blockbuster Failure, I don't even think we could retrieve as much data from fan-sites as we still can for DAOC.

Maybe just as the SVN the game looked pretty empty to me ;)

I hate to be a bearer of bad news, but I really dont think its worth it. Even if you managed to get everything you can out of the few packets there, you'll still have an incomplete game.

I have downloaded all files from "http://subversion.assembla.com/svn/allp ... rhammerV2/" to start the server. MS Visual Studio brings the error message
Code: Select all
D:\FrameWork\FrameWork.csproj: error / ' could not be loaded
- DONE -
