How do I apply a patch file?

I have tortoise. None of this makes any sense to me.
Is it possible for someone to walk me through it step by step?

Right click on the repo, apply patch, select it and it should be ok.

You read the how-to create a patch, process for deploying is similar (i give you this link because i'm not using tortoiseSVN so i can't precisely help you).

Does not work.
I'm ready to put team viewer up and have someone show me. I have been wrestling with this for hours.

Generally, this is a bad patch file. Can you simply create a new patch, export, revert your original file, and apply your own patch ?
