Roaming Range

Postby reefcrazed » Mon Oct 24, 2016 3:20 am

What tells a mob it's roaming range? Setting /mob roaming 10, would that be it's roaming range of 10 units? Is a mob aware of walls, trees, water, etc?

Going by what I read, setting it to something like /mob roaming 300, the mob should have a huge roaming radius. But it does not, it just goes a few feet away.

EDIT: Nevermind, I under estimated the number range. 300 is not that far away.

Yes the range is the radius where the mob 'll randomly move.
No he will not be aware of water/trees. But he won't go into solid structure.

Ya a game unit is pretty small, equivalent to a real world inch or less.

One way of getting idea of what different range sets can use the /groundset command. It puts a marker on the ground at distance specified.

Just curious, the groundset command is only for a visual cue? It does not make any changes in the database correct?

/groundset is a client-side command for changing your ground target position, it is not sent to Server in any way (like /face /stick etc...)
