Housing - Consignment Merchant

Hi, I seem to be having a lot of trouble with adding a consignment merchant, I recently bought a house with a porch and quickly set about adding things to my house, only to be met with a 'You can not add a consignment merchant here' message while trying to add it to the porch. I have a porch and this has never happened before, does anyone have any ideas? I made it a guild house before adding the CM, would that have made any difference. Thanks in advance for any replies

You have to buy the merchant inside the house, on one of the pages for the house store.

ok, problem solved, the problem seemed to be with making the house a guild house BEFORE adding the CM. had to buy a new house and replace everything but it worked this way.

Really? So you can't add a CM to a guild house?
