D3 loot

while the new chest pieces / robes are nice with so many free sockets... the weapons leave me puzzled. 9 sockets are nice in some instances for those needing the additional space. most persons making templates have at this point (RM mode 80) fully or near fully built a template with most not requiring additional sockets. the speed on the 2h / pole weapons at 4.0- 5.5 is kind of eh. the 4.0 spd on the scythe is really blah. most ppl swinging a weapon dont require these super fast speeds as it greatly inhibits dmg out put. the drops ive received and delved thus far lead me to believe im better off taking a 5 minute trip in NM to diablo II than the 10+ minute run for diablo III in realm mode. the 5% procs are a nice addition to an existing weapon for those needing / wanting a little extra punch for ae killing.

overall the d3 encounter is fun and a challenge... the new weapon loot on the other hand could use a bit of help imo. i think we all kinda look for something to keep our attention and lead us to want to spend the time it takes to arrive at and then kill him for truely epic end game loot. d3 for example 1h weapons with a 4.5-5.0 spd, 2h/LW/Spear/Pole 6.0-6.5spd and bow 4.5-5.0 all with 25.5 clamp dps. this would better reflect end game final loot stats for dmg. LOTM skins have already been used on several occasions. i realize with a ROG system as large as the one on here seldom leaves room for an individual loot skin. i did notice there are very few alb dragon slayer skin items (item model id 3950-3985). this would clearly separate the new skins from anything currently used for the d3 specific drops for example.

Speed. I forgot about the importance of slower weapon speeds. Ill correct. There will be more drops, I'm just plodding through the list of models and effects I like.

melee resist debuff <grins> ? and 2nd proc DD / DoT or ML 10 weapon proc would be super juicy :P

I don't know what an ML10 weapon proc is, ML sounds like ToA, not a big fan. Enlighten me. :)

8) the Master Level 10 procs summon an elemental sword/weapon that has a duration of about 30 seconds and attacks your target with the same dps as your weapon.

My vote is for lightsaber looking models :D

Meh, no temporary weapon, but looking to add something like that permanent :)

I also found some ML spell handlers that seem to work well. PBAOE damage buff, PBAOE elemental proc (works very well on bosses), group damage reduction.

the one i am referring to is the weapon spawn proc. for example

its the actual elemental proc that spawns weapons to attack for a short duration of time. thats what is making us all drool

dual procs are something that 1 arent in d2 yet but can be. i think the normal champ weapon 15% melee resist debuff and an additional proc would be reasonable. the thing with the ml10 weapon procs isnt that they do so much dmg. it is like having a bd with multiple lower lvl mobs all attacking from its procs slightly lowering say a bosses defenses. i think it would be also reasonable for a proc like this. especially melee weak toons like casters who dont do a bunch of dmg melee wise to start with (like healers, clerics and druids) but have melee skills at their disposal.

if a normal melee 1h (hybrid tank: reaver, pally, valk, champ) do say 25 dmg on diablo3 the proc weapon dmg at 3-5 would be reasonable. it would be roughly the same as what scroll champ pets do.

im trying to take a careful approach to this. stuff like DD, DoT will do absolutely nothing to bosses. the boss level is too high with resists also being incredibly high. taking a normal lvl 49 DD spell and working it to be a lvl needed for high lvl d2 mobs i think would be a lot of trouble. that same weapon proc if hitting a boss say for 20 dmg dd wise would do like 200 dmg to an oj con 80 mob. yes the illusory weapon procs will take some work, they also have an effect that works for not only melee but caster classes as well giving them a slightly better boost again for melee. melee toons already will of course get a little more of an edge but i dont feel it would be overpowered. controlling things like chance to proc, duration of proc and lvl of elemental spawned would take care of that without issue to keep it from being abused.

the glow / flame / cold effect can be added to weapons and several other parts modified on their /item info. its funny but i have seen a tiny dagger that had a flame effect like a chanters DD spell making this thing look completely like a light saber the length of a spear it was hillarious seeing a lurikeen with it.

when i make suggestions its normally because ive sat and spent hours going over this stuff as i have in the past on other servers. i try to look at many views such as for casters and effects vs. mobs. im not the greatest but i try to do what i can to help keep things interesting and stir some ideas of the server players as well as tola. i like this server and fully intend to spend my time playing here until tola finally pulls his hair out and shoots the server lol.

im going to step out here and assume that there is still a continued effort eventually to update d3 drops. missing several key weapon items like caster / melee staffs (mauler, friar and spec casters), fist wraps, h2h's, left axe, left crush / blunt, flexible, main hand axe, main hand crush / blunt and bows. (new d3 shield mebbe mid lg skin id 3931?, new 1h pole like kings pointer from d3 new skin id 2190 optionally)(albion dragonslayer skin change to separate d3 drops from nearly all other current drop skins :P lol)

could we possibly add the dol npc's for item skin change, proc (weapon / armor) and effect add/ remove for gold or bp exchange instead?
