dual procs are something that 1 arent in d2 yet but can be. i think the normal champ weapon 15% melee resist debuff and an additional proc would be reasonable. the thing with the ml10 weapon procs isnt that they do so much dmg. it is like having a bd with multiple lower lvl mobs all attacking from its procs slightly lowering say a bosses defenses. i think it would be also reasonable for a proc like this. especially melee weak toons like casters who dont do a bunch of dmg melee wise to start with (like healers, clerics and druids) but have melee skills at their disposal.
if a normal melee 1h (hybrid tank: reaver, pally, valk, champ) do say 25 dmg on diablo3 the proc weapon dmg at 3-5 would be reasonable. it would be roughly the same as what scroll champ pets do.
im trying to take a careful approach to this. stuff like DD, DoT will do absolutely nothing to bosses. the boss level is too high with resists also being incredibly high. taking a normal lvl 49 DD spell and working it to be a lvl needed for high lvl d2 mobs i think would be a lot of trouble. that same weapon proc if hitting a boss say for 20 dmg dd wise would do like 200 dmg to an oj con 80 mob. yes the illusory weapon procs will take some work, they also have an effect that works for not only melee but caster classes as well giving them a slightly better boost again for melee. melee toons already will of course get a little more of an edge but i dont feel it would be overpowered. controlling things like chance to proc, duration of proc and lvl of elemental spawned would take care of that without issue to keep it from being abused.
the glow / flame / cold effect can be added to weapons and several other parts modified on their /item info. its funny but i have seen a tiny dagger that had a flame effect like a chanters DD spell making this thing look completely like a light saber the length of a spear it was hillarious seeing a lurikeen with it.
when i make suggestions its normally because ive sat and spent hours going over this stuff as i have in the past on other servers. i try to look at many views such as for casters and effects vs. mobs. im not the greatest but i try to do what i can to help keep things interesting and stir some ideas of the server players as well as tola. i like this server and fully intend to spend my time playing here until tola finally pulls his hair out and shoots the server lol.
