Xp on DOL and on Live

The xp on dol is custom its to high couse it were never changed on live. And couse not all noticed that yet i gonna xplain the xp diffrence from live to dol and from classic to livelike.
First of all Uthgard have exactly classic xp rules check this list:

(the Level Cap is outdated in one way couse you get first grp xp and camp xp then that cap is changed and the other bonuses are added after)

This is the same as xp as currently on live it looks higher couse you have better skills and procs on lower levels and you dont start as starter class anymore. (so the speed twist a bit the feeling of xp value)

But sure there some new xp bonuses at these days:
3% xp bonus from keep bonuses
25% xp bonus in Darkness Falls (allready existed in live) / The Labyrinth / Passage of Conflict
75% xp bonus in all Catacombs open map and Dungeons (this include tutorial)
75% xp bonus in all Trials of Atlantis open map and Dungeons
75% xp bonus in all Darkness Rising open map and Dungeons
45% xp bonus to task dungeons and adventure wings
100% xp bonus in Celestius
100% xp bonus in Summoners Hall
75% xp bonus in Sheereo Hills
75% xp bonus in Malmohus
75% xp bonus in Dartmoor
15% RVR Zone xp bonus (existed in classic too)
25% RVR enemy kill xp
5% xp bonus from /gc buff xp
5% xp bonus Nightshroud Bracelet from Artifact Bracer: http://camelot.allakhazam.com/item.html?citem=13626
5% xp bonus Orion's Belt from Artifact Belt: http://camelot.allakhazam.com/item.html?citem=19027
and ofc grp bonus and camp bonus (forgot about them first added this after)

So you can reach +18% bonus xp in pve (without camp/grp/zone bonus) if you use all ways but that dont mean the base xp need be higher.
(and dol have an 50% higher base cap)
And RvR enemy kills can give up to 43% bonus xp (without camp/grp/zone bonus). But that dont change the hardcap couse with that you can come above the hardcap.

So if you want set the xp correctly on your server check this to see db property settings:

i think the important thing is that all of this can be changed in server properties, so the individual can set their xp rate (not everybody wants live xp rates)

Never said how you have to set it i just xplained how xp work and showed how you set livelike IF YOU WANNA :)

So why is there a 25% delta almost everywhere compared to Core values ?

Did you pinpoint some area in source code that would produce this flat 25% increased rate ?

I can understand most shards would raise XP rate in some way compared to live (and especially classic...) but it would be better if Core was the "real thing" and you could still raise the rates (and cap) through Server Properties !

I can understand most shards would raise XP rate in some way compared to live (and especially classic...) but it would be better if Core was the "real thing" and you could still raise the rates (and cap) through Server Properties !
i dint raised anything in db i just lowered on the left you can see the default settings (in the property picture)

and the cap isnt known yet if i could get 7 players logging to pendragon we could research the cap in 100 kills and i can list down data and someone who can code could add it to core.

All i did here is doing my best to make it way more livelike with current code and db.

But if you ask why there are 25% steps that part of code is very very old and for the knowledge of that time it wasnt possible to do it diffrent but at these days we have the knowledge that can be base for correct values and code.

I understand you didn't raise anything, but your tests show that DOL with default XP rate is mostly 25% higher than the rates you tested against Live server ?

If I understand correctly 25% is an average, lowering XP rate server properties by this amount make it closer to live but not exactly the same ?

8 People at once on Pendragon will not be an easy task :D

with 25% lower its exactly like on live not near live

did test on pendragon and on my server 4 hours each with 2 friends each

i am a bit sceptical of this,
I did a quick test while on pendragon mapping a dungeon
lvl 50 vs oj mob in coruscating mine yielded
6,291,456 outpost bonus
66,060,288 area bonus
198,180,864 xp (73,400,320 camp bonus) if you minus the extra bonuses you get 125,829,120 xp
vs red con mob same dungeon
6,160384 outpost
64,684,032 area
194,052,096 xp(70778880 camp bonus) after minus bonuses 123,207,680 xp

on my server with pve xp cap 100% and xp rate 1.0
lvl 50 vs lvl 55 mob
125,829,120 (83,886,080 camp bonus)

now this is a pretty bad test, but it does show the xp cap, at level 50 at least, is exactly the same as live

at test at level one vs oj mob
pendragon -
16 xp for being rested
4 xp outpost bonus
15 xp area bonus
62 xp (15 camp bonus) after minus bonuses, 27 xp

my server, with same setting as above, lvl 1 vs oj mob
30 xp (20 camp bonus)

i'm new to the project, but looking through the code, the developers who wrote the formulas took it seriously as far as accuracy goes. I doubt they would let the xp code stray too far from live like.

I'm wandering what you're killing on pendragon to get 11 xp from a yellow con mob (after all added bonuses are removed)

Nevermind your right on my researches on patch notes n such i forgot zone bonuses got changed^^ i updated on top
So if you xped in one of those regions the xp is diffrent ofc.

The properties i showed is just the first step to get xp correctly on freeshards there is still alot of work to do couse if you check most dbs and look for zone xp bonus there is noone yet. That mean ofc the setting we had so far seem to be correct in most cases but its the result of wrong variables and such that mean in some zones you get to much xp in others you dont get enough and i dont want lower xp on freeshards i want work with you guys to have correct xp at end with correct variables.

Since we investigated XP in detail I can give you the hint that camp bonus is applied AFTER cap. Camp bonus is calculated on base XP (which is capped) and then added on top of that. On Uthgard 1 that was one of the mistakes in XP calculation.
